Renovation Update

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back from Spring Break and are thrilled to announce that another phase of renovation has been completed! Classes previously in the trailers were moved over spring break and are ready for occupancy!  Orchestra and chorus classes have moved to the trailers as we prepare for the final phase of renovation.  Our teachers have been unpacking and organizing inviting spaces for our students’ return.

The new wing features:

  • About 25 new state of the art classrooms including English, social studies, world language, and special education
  • Clinic and safety and security offices
  • Variety of staff offices and resource spaces

Please have your student review their new room numbers in SIS. Students who arrive before 7:20 should report to the gyms, as usual, where they can review a map of the new wing. Staff members will be stationed throughout the building to help students navigate the building.  During block 1, all students will receive a map and throughout the day each class will review a variety of topics related to the move with timely information.

Kiss & Ride Reminder

Students should only be dropped off in the designated Kiss n Ride in the back of the building, or, the front of the building when directed by a staff member.  Dropping students off in other locations creates unsafe situations. We appreciate your support in following the directions of our school staff each morning.

National School Social Worker Week

March 3-9 is National School Social Work Week. Social workers in FCPS help to prevent social, emotional, and behavioral factors from affecting a student's ability to perform at their best. Their primary goal is to remove barriers that prevent a student from fulfilling their academic potential. Social workers are assigned to every school and center in the school system. Most social workers serve one to two sites. Learn more about the role of social workers in FCPS.

Cooper MS is fortunate to have Ms. Kaelyn Serrao to provide support and connections with our students.
